Easter Jeep Safari
Moab, Utah

Day 1

We lined up on Big Saturday, and hit the Steel Bender trail. The weather was windy and very cold, but it was still a very fun trail. One buddy in his built '89 XJ blew the planetary gears in his transfercase on the first obstacle, and had to return to his trailer in 2wd. Most of Steel Bender was fairly easy. The only mildly nervous part is a steep, but short, decent on the trail that someone needed to spot me down. As the front tires reach the bottom of the drop, you must turn immediatly left because the right front tire is just a couple feet from dropping of a very steep hill side. I have no pictures from day one.

Day 2

This day we ran the Cliff Hanger trail, or as the bikers call it, Amasa Back. There were only four rigs in our group, my red RC, the white RC, the yellow TJ, and the Karnivor (this was the one BFG gave away last year). On the first major obstacle I crunched the left rear quarter and the tail light lens.

Day 3

In the morning we drove over to the new 4wd shop in Moab to check it out. They were closed for the day, so we played on their RTI ramp.

After flexing out on the ramp, we ran the Hell's Revenge trail. At Tip Over Challenge, we caught up to a group with several early Power Wagons and WW2 Dodges. It was fun to watch them work.
